City Discusses New Bike Pump Track At Laguna Beach Park: City Council
The Laguna Beach City Council will discuss a slew of topics Tuesday evening, ranging from proposed pump tracks to public tree maintenance.
LAGUNA BEACH, CA — The City of Laguna Beach will discuss a proposed bike pump track at Moulton Meadows Park at this week's City Council meeting.
According to the city, a pump track is a graded and paved contoured track that bikers use to build skills, increase strength and recreate along a connecting track. The surface is typically rubberized asphalt to minimize sound, the city said.
If approved, the pump track would be built at one of the following locations: Moulton Meadows, Lang Park, Aliso Beach Park, Community & Recreation Center or County Water District land.

It was not immediately known how much the pump track would cost if approved. Pump tracks in neighboring cities, including San Clemente, cost roughly $619,000 and required about eight months for planning, design, construction and opening.
According to the city, the cost might be offset through sponsorships or grants.
