Laguna Beach May Impose Term Limits On City Council
Laguna Beach voters will decide next November if they want to limit how many consecutive years city council members can serve in office.
LAGUNA BEACH, CA — Laguna Beach residents will vote next November on whether or not to impose term limits on City Council members.
Currently, the City of Laguna Beach is one of the few in Orange County that has yet to implement term limits.
The initiative was approved to be placed on the ballot during Tuesday's Laguna Beach City Council meeting, after residents gathered over 2,200 signatures in favor of including the initiative on the ballot.

Under the initiative, once a councilmember serves two terms, officials will have to wait two years before they can run away again.
Currently, Laguna Beach City Council members serve four year terms but are not limited to how many terms they can serve.
