City Officials May Build Bike Pump Track In Laguna Beach; Resident Opinion Sought

Plans for building a mountain bike pump track in town are being discussed by Laguna Beach City officials at an upcoming council meeting.

LAGUNA BEACH, CA — Plans for building a mountain bike pump track in town are being discussed by Laguna Beach City officials, with resident input being sought regarding the matter.

According to the city, a pump track is a paved, contoured loop designed for riders to build skills and enjoy recreational biking.

The proposal includes two tracks — one for beginners and one for general use — with a rubberized asphalt surface to lessen noise, officials said.

In addition, the pump track would be designed for daylight use only, and no new parking lot is being proposed.

Residents were urged to give feedback on the proposal at an upcoming Laguna Beach City Council meeting on Tuesday, July 22 at 5 p.m. in City Council Chambers, 505 Forest Avenue.
