Update: Cockroaches Close South Swell Donuts
County health inspectors found cockroaches in several areas of South Swell Donuts in Laguna Beach during a routine inspection.

County health officials closed South Swell Donuts in Laguna Beach last week, after finding cockroaches near the cooking equipment and other areas of the facility.
During a routine inspection on Oct. 31, South Swell Donuts was cited with three major health violations and five minor health violations.
Numerous live cockroaches were seen at the donut shop "mostly around the cooking equipment, the 3-compartment sink, and the "non-operational" slicer," according to a county inspection report. "Numerous dead roaches" were also found at the facility.

South Swell Donuts was required to eliminate all cockroaches, clean the floors, walls and equipment, as well as other county requirements. The donut shop was reopened on Monday after passing a follow-up county inspection.
