Designer Andrew Byrom Gets a Special Show at LCAD
The exhibit explores Byrom's use of text in his artwork.
Submitted by the Laguna College of Art & Design:
A new exhibition opening Thursday at the Laguna College of Art & Design showcases the experimental approach of award-winning designer Andrew Byrom. His sculptural/ dimensional letterforms will be installed in the gallery space alongside printed examples of these designs in use – for clients that have included The New York Times, UCLA Extension, The A+D Museum, and Sagmeister Inc.
Byrom's work explores the conventions of typographic design in three dimensions, using unfamiliar applications, materials and processes to define new forms. This development led to a natural foray into the field of environmental graphic design, where he has begun collaborating on projects for the built environment.
