I'm Walkin' Here! Laguna Cops To Target Ignorant Drivers Wednesday
Police will be monitoring Laguna Beach crosswalks next week, and cracking down on drivers who don't stop for pedestrians.

Laguna Beach Police will once again be enforcing crosswalk laws this coming Wednesday, Feb. 27, stopping and possibly ticketing drivers who fail to adequately stop for pedestrians.
The purpose of the monitoring is primarily to raise public awareness about the hazards pedestrians face by merely crossing the street.
"Laguna Beach has 37 designated crosswalks along Pacific Coast Highway," LBPD Chief Paul Workman said in a press release. "Too many serious accidents occur each year from motorists failing to stop for pedestrians in the crosswalks. For this reason, the Laguna Beach Police Department, with assistance from the Irvine Police Department, will be conducting several proactive crosswalk enforcement campaigns to improve pedestrian safety along Coast Highway. Drivers please remember, if someone has entered a crosswalk in your path, yield and come to a complete stop until they have safely passed. Drivers are also reminded that passing a vehicle that has stopped in an adjacent lane for a pedestrian is another violation of state law."
