Inmate Escapes From Musick Facility

Anyone with information about his Max Edward Fernandez's location is advised to contact OCSD.

An inmate at an Irvine jail facility escaped on Friday, and the Orange County Sheriff's Department is hoping for any help they can get in his recapture. 

Max Edward Fernandez was confirmed missing during a security check at the James A. Musick Facility in Irvine on Friday, about 4 p.m. Fernandez, born Aug. 27, 1986, was in custody for possession of stolen property and a narcotics violation. He has a criminal history of thefts, burglaries, narcotic violations, auto theft and resisting arrest. 

The investigation is ongoing as to how Fernandez escaped the facility.

Fernandez, 27, is described as a male white, 5 feet 8 inches, 170 pounds, with brown hair, brown eyes with several tattoos.

The tattoos are described as a tribal band on his upper right arm, a skull on his upper right back, USMC with a hammerhead shark on his left tricep.

He was last seen wearing a gray t-shirt and red shorts under a pair of gray sweat pants. Fernandez may have injured or cut himself during the escape.
