Laguna Beach Design Board To Consider Streamlining Review Process

When the Laguna Beach Design Review Board meets June 13, it will consider streamlining the process used to review permit applications.

LAGUNA BEACH, CA -- When the Laguna Beach Design Review Board meets June 13, one of the items on its agenda will be possibly streamlining the process used to review permit applications.

The agenda item comes following a March meeting of the City Council in which the Council directed staff to streamline the discretionary review process and thereby enable certain permits to be processed more efficiently.

The Council identified a number of items to be modified, with the current plan focusing on: administrative approval of pool/spa equipment and air conditioning units; reducing the number of days for project staking and and public notification from 28 days to 14 days; transferring review authority for certain projects from the Design Review Board to the city's planning commission; and clarifying the revocation process.
