These Orange County ZIP Codes Rank In The Top 100 Most Expensive Homes In The Country

Laguna Beach is in the top 100 of the most expensive ZIP codes to reside in the nation.

LAGUNA BEACH, CA —Laguna Beach is a top 50 contender of the highest priced real estate in the nation, according to a recent report by Property Shark. Orange County was well represented, with five ZIP codes on the highest-priced list, four landing in the top 20, with one in Huntington Beach and three in Newport Beach, and a top 50 contender in Laguna Beach.

Property Shark considered all residential transactions closed between Jan. 1 and Oct. 22 and included 127 ZIP codes.

Huntington Beach was slated at #14, with ZIP code 90742, where the median price home sells for $3,625,000.

Newport Beach had the third-highest concentration of pricey ZIP codes, with three entries.

Balboa's 92662 ZIP code grabbed #15 with a median selling price of $3,577,000.

Next up was #19, with Newport Beach's ZIP code 92657, with a median price of $3,365,000.

Newport Beach also ranked #20, with ZIP 92661, with the median price of $3,293,000.

Corona Del Mar ranked at #36 of the most expensive median price homes in Orange County, at $2,695,000.

Laguna Beach ZIP 92651 ranked in the top 50, at #41 of the most expensive cities, with a medium selling price of $2,475,000.

Finishing up the list, Newport Beach returns to the top 100, with #74, at ZIP 92660 with the median price of $2,111,000 and #76 at ZIP 92663 and a median price of $1,845,000.

Villa Park rounds out the top 100 list, at #95, with ZIP code 92861 at a median price of $1,650,000.

Among the report's findings:

-- The country's top 10 most expensive ZIP codes surpassed a median sales price of $4 million for the first time.
-- Almost 30 of the 100 priciest ZIP codes in the country feature median prices higher than $3 million, more than twice as many as in 2020.
-- California accounts for 70% of the priciest markets, and 37% of them are concentrated in the San Francisco Bay Area.
-- Los Angeles County's most expensive ZIP code in Beverly Hills' 90210, ranking No. 6 nationally with median prices at $4.1 million.
-- Los Angeles was ranked No. 2, tied with New York, with the highest number of expensive ZIP codes, with six ZIP codes ranked nationally.

According to the report, Santa Monica also ranked in the top 10 nationally, placing eighth overall with a median sales price of $4.058 million in the 90402 ZIP code.

Topping the list nationally was the Atherton area in San Mateo County, with a median sales price of nearly $7.5 million.

According to the report, Los Angeles County features 21 ZIP codes in the top 100 nationally for the most expensive real estate.
