Small works of art are being created at Laguna College of Art and Design to be sold at a fundraiser aimed at helping the victims of Typhoon Haiyan in the Philippines.
The "Art for Haiyan" fundraiser will take place on Monday, Dec. 9 from 5-7 p.m. at LCAD's Main Campus Gallery. Kevin Cartwright, LCAD's director of development, said the college hopes to raise upwards of $2,500, 100 percent of which will go directly to UNICEF Emergency Relief. At the fundraiser, community members can purchase the original works and digital prints with cash or check.
“As artists, designers and lovers of art and design, we all know that art has the power to make a difference on a multitude of levels,” Charity Oetgen, an LCAD senior in Fine Arts, said about the art fundraiser.
