Man Dies from Injuries Suffered in Vehicle, Bicycle Crash

The crash occurred two weeks prior to the man's death.

A 74-year-old man died from injuries he suffered two weeks ago in a vehicle-versus-bicycle crash in Laguna Woods, the Orange County coroner’s office said today.

Cesar Labastida of Laguna Woods died at 6:22 a.m. Sunday at Mission Hospital Regional Medical Center in Mission Viejo, according to the coroner’s office.

Labastida was struck by a vehicle just before 6 a.m. on Nov. 15 as he rode a bike on Moulton Parkway south of Santa Maria Avenue, according to the coroner’s office.

He was southbound on Moulton Parkway when he was struck by a 2006 Honda Civic going in the same direction, according to the Orange County Sheriff’s Department, which reported that the Honda driver called 911 and stayed at the crash scene.
