A blog post by Priscilla Mayfield on the Orange Coast Magazine website reports that the Laguna Beach branch of upscale Japanese restaurant Katsuya will close after service on Monday, March 4 (that's today).
Mayfield doesn't give a reason as to why it's closing (we're guessing the economy), but she does say that the restaurant will have its usual Monday half-price bargain menu items before going belly-up.
The space probably won't be empty for long, Mayfield hints, suggesting that "a fine-dining mini-empire from another Asian tradition" has been eyeballing it for a second OC location ...
