Hundreds Of Laguna Niguel And Dana Point Residents Left Without Power

More than 700 residents in South Orange County were in the dark after San Diego Gas and Electric reported an outage Tuesday morning.

LAGUNA NIGUEL, CA — More than 700 residents in South Orange County were left without power Tuesday morning after San Diego Gas and Electric experienced an unexpected outage.

The outage was reported before 10:30 a.m. and impacted the cities of Dana Point, Laguna Niguel and San Juan Capistrano. It's unknown what caused the outage, and it remains under investigation, an SDG&E spokesperson told Patch.

A majority of SDG&E customers had their power restored by 4:30 p.m., but the outage still impacted 56 customers, the power company reported.
