SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO, CA — A man was killed Monday morning in a single- vehicle crash on Ortega Highway in San Juan Capistrano.The crash occurred at 2:32 a.m. Monday on Ortega Highway at Via Errecarte, according to the California Highway Patrol.The man was the only person in the vehicle, Orange County Sheriff's Sgt. Gerard McCann said. His name was not released pending notification of next of kin.Ortega Highway was shut down in both directions from Antonio Parkway to Strawberry Lane for the OCSD investigation, which was expected to take several hours.
