South OC Pair Arrested For Gunpoint Robbery That Critically Injured Man, Police Say

PASADENA, CA — A man and woman from south Orange County face multiple felony charges after robbing a man at gunpoint, forcing him to withdraw money from ATMs and shooting him when he tried to flee in Los Angeles, authorities said Tuesday.

Pasadena police officers were dispatched at about 9:55 p.m. on April 25 to investigate a report that a man had been shot in the 100 block of East Holly Street, according to the Pasadena Police Department.

"Upon arrival, officers located the victim and rendered immediate aid," according to a PPD statement. "The victim was transported to a local hospital where he underwent emergency surgery survived."

During the investigation, police "learned that the victim was lured on a false pretense and robbed of jewelry and other valuables at gunpoint by two suspects."

"The victim was then driven to various ATM locations against his will and made to withdraw money under the threat of harm," police said. "When the victim attempted to escape and ran from the vehicle, he was shot and severely injured."

On July 17, detectives arrested San Juan Capistrano residents Marissa Monique Sanchez, 25, and Roman Isael Salgado, 23, in Mission Viejo.

Sanchez has since been charged by the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office with one felony count of robbery and Salgado with felony counts of attempted murder, kidnapping to commit another crime, and robbery, according to the Pasadena Police Department.
