Teen Driver Killed, 5 Hospitalized When Pickup Smashes Tree Near Dana Point Harbor

DANA POINT, CA — A pickup crashed into a tree in Dana Point Tuesday, killing one teenager and injuring five others, the Orange County Sheriff's Department reported.

The crash happened shortly before noon Tuesday at Dana Point Harbor Drive and Island Way, authorities said.

The driver was pronounced dead at the scene and five others in the vehicle were taken to an area hospital, where three were listed in critical condition but were expected to survive.
