91 Refresh Project Rolls On Toward December Completion

CORONA, CA — The eastbound Riverside (91) Freeway in downtown Corona was scheduled to reopen Monday morning following a weekend shutdown to enable crews to continue re-surfacing work.

The full eastbound closure started at 10 p.m. Friday between Main Street and the 91/Interstate 15 interchange, with all five lanes out of service until 5 a.m. Monday, according to the Riverside County Transportation Commission.

The agency said that the second weekend closure in less than a month was required for ongoing operations connected to the $12.6 million "91 Refresh Project," which entails resurfacing lanes, modifying retaining walls and repairing concrete barriers on both sides of the 91.

The project is expected to wrap up by December. It was not immediately known whether additional shutdowns might be required between now and then.

The re-surfacing may conclude before the scheduled time on Monday, depending on conditions.

• Westbound 91 at Main St. On-Ramp: Lane Reductions Monday, October 3 through Friday, October 7, daily, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
• Westbound 91 at Main St. On-Ramp: Closures Monday, October 3 through Thursday, October 6, nightly, 8 p.m. to 4:30 a.m., Friday, October 7, 8 p.m. to 7:30 a.m.
• Westbound at 91 Main St. Off-Ramp: Closures Wednesday, October 5 and Thursday, October 6, nightly, 8 p.m. to 4:30 a.m.
• Northbound 15 to Westbound 91 Connector Closures: Wednesday, October 5 and Thursday, October 6, nightly, 8 p.m. to 4:30 a.m.
• Southbound 15 to Westbound 91 Connector Closures: Wednesday, October 5 and Thursday, October 6, nightly, 8 p.m. to 4:30 a.m.
