Alleged Criminal Activity At Lake Elsinore Parks Leads To Crackdown

The Lake Elsinore Sheriff's Station Special Enforcement Team was at the parks on Thursday.

LAKE ELSINORE, CA — After receiving complaints about alleged criminal activity at Lake Elsinore city parks, the sheriff's department said it took action.

On Thursday, the Lake Elsinore Sheriff’s Station Special Enforcement Team spoke to "numerous" people in the parks, some of whom were using alcohol and/or marijuana against park rules, according to the sheriff's department.

"These individuals were held accountable for their actions by means of an arrest or citation," the law enforcement agency said.

The department did not provide details on other possible crimes it uncovered during Thursday's operation.

The Lake Elsinore Sheriff’s Station has a dedicated Community Services deputy whose primary role is to ensure safety at city parks, according to the sheriff's department.
