Driver Killed In Lake Elsinore After Car Crashes, Sparks Fire
The incident happened near Horsethief Canyon Road.
LAKE ELSINORE, CA -- One person died Saturday after a car went over an embankment near Lake Elsinore. Riverside County Fire Department said the incident happened around 9:12 p.m. at the intersection of De Palma Road and Horsethief Canyon Road, just north of Lake Elsinore.
Responding firefighters said the car crashed, sparking a fire. The person was pronounced dead a short time later.
The California Highway Patrol is investigating the incident.
