Fire Damages 4 Homes Under Construction In Lake Elsinore

The blaze was reported at 1:35 a.m. Thursday, immediately east of Interstate 15 off Nichols Road, just north of Temescal Canyon High School.

LAKE ELSINORE, CA — A fire tore through a housing tract under development in Lake Elsinore overnight, leaving four uninhabited structures damaged, according to Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department.

The blaze was reported at 1:35 a.m. Thursday at River Rock Court and Ranch Road, immediately east of Interstate 15 off Nichols Road, just north of Temescal Canyon High School. The area is within the Nichols Ranch Specific Plan where 168 new homes are being constructed as part of the Hilltop at Nichols Ranch development by Meritage Homes.

The four structures were "all wood framing, under new construction," according to the fire department.

The cause of the blaze was under investigation.
