Fire Damages Home, Recreational Vehicle Near I-215 In Perris

PERRIS, CA — A residential fire that burned Friday near Interstate 215 and Metrolink tracks in Perris caused heavy smoke and damage but no injuries.

The blaze was reported at 2:03 p.m. in the 200 block of 1st Street. When Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department arrived at the scene, firefighters found a single-story, single-family home in flames.

The fire was contained at 2:25 p.m. In addition to the structure, a recreational vehicle burned, according to the fire department.

Crews were expected to remain on scene for approximately one hour.

The cause of the fire was under investigation.
