Gas Prices Drop A Smidge In Riverside County

Prices per gallon, however, still are roughly 9 cents more than last month and $1.17 more than a year ago, experts said.

RIVERSIDE COUNTY, CA — The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Riverside County dropped four-tenths of a cent Wednesday to $4.269, after changing by three-tenths of a cent or less nine of the previous 10 days.

The average price is nine-tenths of a cent higher than one week ago, 9.1 cents more than one month ago and $1.174 greater than a year ago, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.

The average price has risen $1.093 since the start of the year because of a sharp increase in the oil price, and because of higher demand due to more people driving to work, according to Jeffrey Spring, the Automobile Club of Southern California's corporate communications manager.
