Hiker Injured Crossing Rugged Terrain In Cleveland Nat'l Forest
Several engine crews were sent to the location and mounted a rescue attempt.
CORONA, CA — A hiker went down Friday on a trail south of Corona, possibly suffering a hip fracture while traversing rugged terrain, prompting Riverside County firefighters to embark on a rescue.
The hiker was reported down about 5:20 p.m. in the Cleveland National Forest, just off Joseph Canyon Trail, near unincorporated El Cerrito, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.
Several engine crews were sent to the location and mounted a rescue attempt, walking through heavy vegetation to find the injured party, according to reports from the scene.

The hiker was reportedly having difficulty guiding firefighters to his location. Along with a possible fractured hip, the victim stated the he may have suffered a broken nose after taking a spill, officials said.
It was unclear if the individual was hiking alone.
