RIVERSIDE COUNTY, CA — A pair of horses got loose from a Riverside property Monday and injured a man who happened to be in their path.
The victim, whose name was not released, suffered unspecified injuries when he came into contact with the equines about 7:30 a.m. in the area of Arlington and La Sierra avenues, according to Riverside County Department of Animal Services spokesman John Welsh.
Welsh said the man could provide few details about the encounter, but a witness told Riverside police and animal control officers that the victim was literally "run over" by the galloping steeds.
