I-15 Multi-Vehicle Crash Results in Temporary Freeway Closure

The three-vehicle crash was reported around 8:30 a.m. on the southbound I-15 north of Cantu Galleano Ranch Road.

EASTVALE, CA — Southbound Interstate 15 was briefly closed in the Eastvale area Thursday after a multi-vehicle crash.

The three-vehicle crash was reported around 8:30 a.m. on the southbound I-15 north of Cantu Galleano Ranch Road, the Riverside County Fire Department announced.

One person was taken to a hospital with moderate injuries, and two additional people were assessed, but declined further treatment according to firefighters.

The vehicles sustained major damage, and one was fully involved in a fire which was contained around 8:50 a.m.

The southbound I-15 was fully closed for about an hour before reopening around 9:30 a.m.

Firefighters remained on scene to complete cleanup in the Express and HOV lanes.

The cause of the crash was not immediately known.
