Motorcyclist Dies Following Weekend Crash In Menifee

The solo-vehicle crash was reported just after 8:30 p.m. Sunday on Domenigoni Parkway, east of Laguna Vista Drive.

MENIFEE, CA — A motorcyclist who crashed Sunday night in Menifee has died.

John Scherer, 69, of Winchester was pronounced dead at Southwest Healthcare Inland Valley Hospital less than an hour after the crash, according to the coroner.

According to the Menifee Police Department, the solo-vehicle crash was reported just after 8:30 p.m. on Domenigoni Parkway, east of Laguna Vista Drive.

Scherer was riding westbound on Domenigoni Parkway from Lindenberger Road when, for unknown reasons, he lost control, struck the center median, and crashed, according to a police report.

"It is unknown at this time whether alcohol or drugs were a factor, as the investigation remains ongoing," according to the police department.
