Lake Elsinore Seeks Volunteers For 2025 Homeless Point-In-Time Count

The annual event, set to take place Jan. 22 at 5:30 a.m., helps the city determine the need level for housing and services.

LAKE ELSINORE, CA — Each year, cities all over the state gather residents to count the number of people living without shelter in their communities. In Lake Elsinore, the 2025 Point-In-Time Count of unsheltered adults is slated for Jan. 22.

Accurately counting the city's homeless population each year is essential for securing state and federal funding, the city said. The count also helps address a "growing public health crisis."

Residents and anyone who wants to help are encouraged to volunteer for the count, which will start at 5:30 a.m. and end at 9:30 a.m. Anyone can register to volunteer here.

Volunteers will count the number of families and individuals experiencing homelessness to help the city determine the level of need for housing and other services.
