Lake Elsinore Woman Refuses To Give Disabled Man's Dog Back

David Guindon said his service dog was found after he went missing two years ago but a Lake Elsinore woman won't give the dog back.

LAKE ELSINORE, CA -- A Lake Elsinore woman reportedly found a missing service dog but refuses to give the four-legged pet back to a disabled man in San Bernardino. In an interview with KCAL9, David Guindon said his dog went missing in May 2016.

Guindon said he searched for his husky, Zeus, for days before getting another service dog. A few weeks ago though, he received a call from the company that micro-chipped Zeus to say the dog was found in Lake Elsinore.

"He's alive and has been found," Guindon told KCAL9.

Guindon called the woman who found Zeus, only for her to say she will not return the dog. The news was heartbreaking for the San Bernardino resident who sits in a wheelchair. He told KCAL9 that he trained the dog to open doors and turn on lights, among other services.

"I hope somebody has enough heart to understand that he is my dog," Guindon told the news station. "It's not like it's a stray dog. He is chipped so we know who he belongs to. Please return the dog."
