Lakeland Village Brush Fire Under Investigation

LAKELAND VILLAGE, CA — A 2-acre brush fire Sunday afternoon in Lakeland Village was quickly contained, but investigators were continuing to investigate the cause, according to Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department.

The non-injury blaze was reported at 3:40 p.m. near Grand Avenue and Stoneman Street, the agency said.

The fire burned in "heavy fuels" at a "moderate rate of spread" before being stopped. Firefighters remained on scene for several hours after the brusher was doused for what was described as a "heavy mop-up," according to the fire department.
