The investigation uncovered that Mims had assaulted the victim multiple times, Reese alleged.
Court records show that the first alleged assault occurred in early June 2022, and the last one occurred at the end of November. The circumstances behind the alleged offenses and the defendant's relationship to the girl, if any, were not disclosed.
An arrest warrant was served on Mims in Riverside, where he was taken into custody without incident.
He has no documented prior felony convictions in Riverside County.
