Naked Man Shot In Suspected Inland Empire Home Invasion: Police

A naked intruder is accused of breaking into the front window of a home while on drugs, police said.

CHINO, CA — A 21-year-old Whittier man was hospitalized Tuesday after allegedly breaking into an Inland Empire home while naked and under the influence of drugs, authorities said.

Chino police officers responded to a 911 call around 11:36 a.m. on Tuesday from a resident in the 4300 block of Lombardy Court. The caller reported that a man had shattered a front window and forced entry into the home. The resident also told dispatchers that her husband had shot the intruder inside the home, according to the Chino Police Department.

Police arrived and found the suspect, later identified as Svens Sokolovskis, nude inside the home and showing signs of drug intoxication. Officers took him into custody, and paramedics from the Chino Valley Fire District rendered aid before transporting him to a local hospital.

A neighbor, Kristi Salmon Estrada, called the incident "scary" on Facebook.

"Great job Chino residents," she wrote. "I'm glad they are safe. I live close by and I was outside with my son. Was wondering why all the cop cars were zooming by."

Detectives from the Chino Police Department have taken over the investigation, which is ongoing. Anyone with information is urged to contact Detective Ike at 909-334-3035.
