UPDATE: Fiery Crash Closes Northbound 15 In Corona

The crash reported Friday night prompted a SigAlert and full shutdown. Lanes were not expected to fully reopen until Saturday afternoon.

CORONA, CA — A fiery crash on northbound Interstate 15, south of Magnolia Avenue, forced the freeway's closure Friday night and lanes were not expected to fully reopen until 1 p.m. Saturday, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The multi-vehicle crash was reported just after 6 p.m. and a SigAlert issued 15 minutes later.

Two vehicles were fully engulfed in fire, and flames spread to nearby vegetation.

All northbound lanes were closed overnight. At 4:46 a.m. Saturday, the CHP announced the toll and #1 lanes reopened but the #2, #3 and #4 lanes were not expected to reopen until the afternoon.

An update on injuries was unavailable.
