Sports Car Crash In Corona Leaves 2 Young Men Dead

CORONA, CA — A driver and his passenger were killed when the sports car they were in slammed into a tree near downtown Corona, authorities said Monday.
Austin Hornung, 25, and Robert Dissmore, 22, both of Corona, were fatally injured shortly after midnight Saturday on East Ontario Avenue, near Magnolia Avenue, according to the Corona Police Department.
Sgt. Jason Waldon said Hornung was at the wheel of a 2017 Ford Mustang, traveling at an undetermined speed, when he apparently lost control and veered off of the four-lane corridor, plowing into the roadside tree.

Paramedics and patrol officers reached the location minutes later and discovered both men in grave condition.
They were taken to Riverside Community Hospital, where they died in the predawn hours Saturday, Waldon said.

He said it remains unknown whether alcohol or drugs were factors in the crash.
