Boy Fatally Shot Near Lake Elsinore Airstrip: Cops Seek Suspects
The 16-year-old was shot in Wildomar, after an altercation and deputies are working to identify a suspect Tuesday.

LAKE ELSINORE, CA — A 16-year-old boy was gunned down during a confrontation in Wildomar, and authorities were working to identify a suspect Tuesday.
The fatal shooting occurred shortly before 5 p.m. Monday near the intersection of Corydon Road and Melinda Lane, less than a block from the Lake Elsinore Airstrip, according to the Riverside County Sheriff's Department.
Sgt. Richard Carroll said the teen, whose identity was not immediately released, was attacked for unknown reasons and then taken by unnamed parties to nearby Inland Valley Medical Center, where he died.

Deputies were notified that the victim was at the hospital, after which Central Homicide Unit detectives took over the investigation, Carroll said.
"Investigative leads are currently being worked on, and there is no threat to the public," he said. "This incident appears to be isolated between the suspect(s) and the victim."

The individual or individuals believed to be involved in the deadly shooting were not identified.
