Trapped Woman Airlifted From SR-74 Crash Near Lake Elsinore

Firefighters used hydraulic tools to free the woman and summoned an air ambulance to take her to a hospital, fire officials said.

LAKE ELSINORE, CA — A woman was trapped in the wreckage after a car and an SUV collided Monday evening on Ortega Highway (74) in unincorporated Lake Elsinore.

The crash was reported at 8:30 p.m. on the 34400 block of Ortega Highway at Rocky Road, according to Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department and California Highway Patrol.

Firefighters used hydraulic tools to free the woman and summoned an air ambulance to take her to a hospital, fire officials said.

Both vehicles sustained major damage, the fire officials said.
