Weather Service Warns of High Winds in Inland Empire

A wind advisory for Wednesday morning warns motorists of sustained winds of 15 to 25 mph and gusts to 45 mph.

A wind advisory was in effect Wednesday in the Inland Empire, where gusts of up to 45 miles per hour were possible below passes and canyons, meteorologists said.

An upper-level trough of low pressure moving  through the Southern Rockies, and surface high pressure over the Great Basin will bring gusty northeast to east winds through this morning, according to the National Weather Service.

The agency scheduled the wind advisory until noon, saying sustained winds of 15 to 25 mph and 45 mph gusts were expected.

A wind advisory is issued when winds capable of making driving difficult are expected.
