Big Council Decision to Be Put Off 2 Weeks

A question of land use will come up at the end of the month.

A City Council agenda item that would have a lifelong impact on Lake Forest was originally scheduled to be heard on Tuesday, but is instead likely to be pushed back to July 30.

The item could change the zoning of the Foothill Auto Mall from commercial to residential, clearing the way for developers to shoehorn townhouses and condominiums into about 15 acres.

The council meeting begins at 7 p.m.

Among the items expected to actually get discussed and voted on by Mayor Scott Voigts, Mayor Pro Tem Kathryn McCullough and councilmen Peter Herzog, Adam Nick and Dwight Robinson, are the reconsideration of the no contact clause limiting potential vendors from contacting anyone other than identified officials. Also up for vote will be the City's five-year strategic plan.

There will also be consideration of an appeal of the Planning Commission's denial of a notice of Public Convenience or Necessity that would have cleared the way for the Foothill Ranch Carwash to sell beer and wine for off-site consumption.
