Taking a look at what's going down and coming up for residents in the Lake Forest area.
• Did you hear about two guys who came up to the woman and tried to tell her they owned her house? Her response, basically: I have three german shepherds. The canines did not take kindly to the strangers.
• Santiago Canyon was abuzz on Tuesday as gunshots were fired near an equestrian center. Choppers were in the air and the SWAT team was on the ground as the area went on lockdown.
• At the most recent meeting of the Parks and Recreation commission, the city's representatives liked the proposed idea of a garden park and said it, and a dog park, are likely to eventually be part of the city's landscape. But Jim Rosenberg added an additional twist to the discussion.
• John Webb ran for Congress unsuccessfully, but the republican candidate got an education. In his Always Right blog, he discusses the current race for Congress in the 45th district. Do you know the candidate Webb is looking for, and can you convince that person to run?
• Today is Dine Out Day at Mountain Mike's to benefit the El Toro High marching band. Check the flyer and take advantage of the opportunity from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.
• Relive the ‘80s with Joan Jett & the Blackhearts, performing at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the Pacific Amphitheater. Tickets range from $21.70 to $44.20, and include free admission to the Orange County Fair, which continues through Sunday.
