Circle K Briefly Closed Over Rodent Droppings
One major health code violation and five minor violations were observed at the Circle K on Portola Parkway.

Health inspectors briefly closed Circle K last month after rodent droppings were spotted in the back food storage area.
A health inspector who visited Foothill Ranch took photos of droppings seen in "multiple locations throughout the back food storage/preparation room," according to the Orange County Health Care Agency.
Here are some of the minor health violations observed by the OCHCA:

- Burritos and "potentially hazardous" sandwiches were stored at 53 degrees Fahrenheit (they should have been below 41 degrees, inspectors said).
- Holes were seen between ceiling tiles and in the wall of the back room.
- Debris was stacked on the floor under back storage shelves, and there was "a heavy accumulation of residue" in the floor sink.
- The back room hand-washing sink didn't have a sign reminding employees to wash their hands.
The eatery at 27252 Portola Parkway was closed July 11. It was reopened the same day after the problems were corrected.
