City OKs New Gift Card Program For Lake Forest Residents: What To Know
Lake Forest residents will soon be able to buy a community gift card and get a second card of the same value free, the city announced.
LAKE FOREST, CA — Lake Forest residents will soon be able to buy a community gift card and get a second card of the same value for free, after the city council approved a new program at their Tuesday meeting.
The Community Gift Card Program was passed unanimously at Tuesday's meeting and is designed to help restaurants, hospitality businesses and other local businesses rebound from the COVID-19 pandemic.
The gift cards would be redeemable at any Lake Forest business that signs up to participate in the program, according to the city statement. Residents can purchase a card for $25, $50 or $100 online and receive a second digital card of equal value.

At the meeting, city council members allocated $575,000 for the program, which will pay for the gift cards and assistance in marketing the program by the Lake Forest Chamber of Commerce.
The gift card program will be available in time for the holidays, and a link for the program's website will be put up in the coming weeks. Residents can check the City of Lake Forest's website for updates.
