DUI Checkpoint Screens Drivers In Lake Forest
The sheriff's department conducted the checkpoint as part of the effort to keep roads safe.
The Orange County Sheriff’s Department DUI Taskforce conducted a checkpoint in Lake Forest on Friday, Nov. 7, from 6 p.m. to 3 a.m. to check for licenses and drivers under the influence, according to a press release.
The results of Friday’s checkpoint are as follows:
- 542 Vehicles screened
- 1 DUI-Alcohol impaired suspect arrested
- 1 DUI-Alcohol and Drug impaired suspect arrested
- 1 Suspect arrested for illegal drugs (possession/transportation/sales)
- 12 Drivers cited/arrested for operating a vehicle unlicensed or while suspended/revoked
- 2 Vehicles towed for storage or impound
90 percent of California driver approve of the checkpoints, which have been shown to lower death rates from drunk driving.

The sheriff’s department will conduct a DUI saturation patrol on Friday, Nov. 21.
