Fireworks and Parades Aplenty on July 4

Lake Forest residents who are interested in celebrating Independence Day with the sparkle and pop of a fireworks show have a several nearby options.
The closest, and most obvious, is above the lake at Lake Forest II. After daylong activities, the gates will close at 9 p.m., and there will be no additional entry. After the National Anthem, the fireworks show begins at 9:10 p.m.
A boat parade on Lake I begins at 1 p.m., with locals decorating their vessels in patriotic dress and vying for various prizes. The parade gets underway at Montessori on the Lake school and go past the clubhouse and follow the normal parade route to the second arm and then back for final viewing.
Another staple in the community, the Fourth of July Parade, begins at 10 a.m., with a course that begins at El Toro High on Toledo, turns right onto Lake Forest Drive, then right onto Serrano.
