Get Free Gelato At 'Gelatissimo' Grand Opening Celebration In South OC

IRVINE, CA — Irvine is getting a little sweeter come Friday, May 2.

Global gelato brand Gelatissimo is opening a new storefront in Irvine as part of its U.S. expansion, joining locations in Texas and Hawaii. The storefront will be located in Irvine's University Center.

Gelatissimo is commemorating the Irvine opening by inviting the community to celebrate with 1,000 free scoops of gelato.

In addition, the first 200 guests who bring a non-perishable food donation to support the UCI Basic Needs Center will receive exclusive Gelatissimo swag while supplies last.

"We are extremely excited to bring this award-winning gelato that we fell in love with to our community in Irvine. Our family has lived in Irvine for over a decade and loves the multi-cultural, family-oriented communities that are here," Owner Sarah Maninang told Patch. "The University Center is a prime location connected to the UC Irvine campus, and our wide range of gelato flavors, which draw inspiration from around the world, are a great complement to the diversity of the university."

The Gelatissimo ribbon-cutting ceremony and celebration takes place Friday, May 2 at 4 p.m. at 4237 Campus Drive.
