Orange County Sheriff deputies searched Serrano Creek Park early Monday afternoon looking for a gunman, but turned up nothing.
The situation began about 1 p.m., after they received a call from a woman who thought she saw a man in the area and thought she heard gunshots, according to Lt. Jeff Passalaqua.
More than a half-dozen units responded. Deputies cleared the park and found a man who deputies thought might have been the person they were seeking, but he was a transient and didn't have a weapon. No guns were found in the park.
"It was nothing," Passalaqua said. "We talked to two people, had a bunch of deputies out there, searched the whole park."
