LA Men Tried To Steal $100K Worth Of Handbags In OC, Police Say
Two men were arrested in Irvine after they attempted to take roughly $100,000 in bags on Tuesday, Jan. 6, authorities said.
IRVINE, CA — Two men were arrested in Irvine after they attempted to take roughly $100,000 in bags on Tuesday, Jan. 6, authorities said.
The incident happened early Tuesday morning in the area of Jamboree and Dupont, when building security contacted the Irvine Police Department to report two people spotted on camera entering the building, police said.
When officers arrived, they found two men inside of the building. Both men were taken into custody.

Surveillance footage of the suspects shows them climbing over a wall and, once inside of the store, grabbing bags from the shelves.
The suspects, identified as 40-year-old Richard Bernard Spencer, of Los Angeles, and 30-year-old Marcellus Ronell Shelby, of Hollywood.

They were booked into Orange County Jail on charges of burglary, grand theft, conspiracy, vandalism and resisting arrest, police said.
