Man Dead When SUV Hits Curb, Flips In Irvine: Police
A man died Thursday after a single-car crash in Irvine triggered by a medical emergency, authorities said.

IRVINE, CA — A man died Thursday after a single-car crash in Irvine.
Officers were dispatched near the intersection of Campus and Turtle Rock drives at around 3:34 p.m. Thursday to reports regarding a severe traffic crash, the Irvine Police Department reported.
Orange County Fire Authority paramedics responded to the location to administer life-saving measures but pronounced the victim dead at the scene.

Detectives determined upon further investigation that a 2022 Chevrolet Equinox SUV was traveling southbound on Campus toward Turtle Rock Drive moments before the vehicle hit a curb and rolled over onto its roof.
``The vehicle struck the curb at the end of Campus, traveled south, and rolled over onto the roof," police said in a statement.

Investigators later learned that the driver was having a medical emergency before the collision.
His name was being withheld pending notification of relatives.
