Man Filmed Underage Girls At South OC Gym And Pool, Police Say

IRVINE, CA — A 25-year-old man was charged Thursday with filming underage girls and touching himself at an apartment complex gym and pool in Irvine.

Gavin Christian Mestas was charged with using an underage person for obscene matter and burglary, both felonies, as well as two counts of child annoyance, three counts of lewd conduct in a public place, a count of possession of burglary tool and a count of trespass-occupation by a squatter, all misdemeanors.

Mestas was accused of going to the apartment complex at 51 Murica at least three times June 2 and Sunday, said Kyle Oldoerp of the Irvine Police Department. Mestas does not live there and allegedly used a burglary tool to get in.

Police declined to say how old the victims were, but they are children, Oldoerp said.

Mestas did not enter a plea at his arraignment Thursday in the jail courtroom in Santa Ana. He was scheduled to be arraigned July 3 in the Harbor Justice Center in Newport Beach.
