OC Sheriff's Standoff With Driver Outside Of Foothill Ranch In-N-Out
The stand-off began after a driver took off from authorities in Mission Viejo, the Orange County Sheriff's Department said.
LAKE FOREST, CA — The Orange County Sheriff's Department was involved in a standoff with a driver outside of an In-N-Out in Foothill Ranch for several hours that stretched into early Thursday morning.
The man was arrested without incident just before 12:30 a.m., the Orange County Sheriff's Department said on Twitter. The man barricaded himself inside a white, four-door sedan in the fast-food restaurant's parking lot, and authorities spent several hours trying to coax him into surrendering.
"He is being medically evaluated at the scene and will be transported to Orange County Jail," the sheriff's department tweeted.

The standoff began after 8:20 p.m. on Wednesday when deputies attempted to contact a man in Mission Viejo suspected of violating a domestic violence court order, the sheriff's department said.
The man fled from deputies, and a short chase ensued, ending at the In-N-Out, authorities said.

Deputies evacuated the restaurant and surrounding area as a safety precaution, the sheriff's department said.
