OC Teen Blaze Bernstein Missing For 5 Days: What To Know

Ivy League student Blaze Bernstein has been missing for five days, prompting a massive search in Orange County.

ORANGE COUNTY, CA -- An Orange County teen who was in town visiting his family has been missing since Tuesday night, prompting a massive search in the region. The disappearance of Ivy League student Blaze Bernstein has caught national attention as family members pray for his safe return.

Here are five things to know about Bernstein:

1. Bernstein is a 19-year-old student at the University of Pennsylvania who returned to Lake Forest during winter break to see his family. He's planning to major in psychology with a minor in chemistry.

2. Bernstein is a foodie. The teen became managing editor of a foodie magazine at his school called, Penn Appetit. He also cooked for his family on Tuesday night before he disappeared.

3. At 9:30 p.m. Tuesday, he texted a friend asking him to meet. The friends arrived at nearby Borrego Park at 10:30 p.m. Bernstein was last seen when he went into the park by himself. The location device on Bernstein's phone stopped working at 11:30 p.m.

4. Bernstein may have been walking along the southbound lanes of the 241 toll road on Wednesday morning, according to witnesses.

5. Bernstein has blue eyes, brown hair, is 5-feet-8 and weighs 130 pounds. He was wearing a dark-colored jacket, dark gray long-sleeved zip-up and white Adidas shoes when last seen.
