The second annual Relay for Life event in Foothill Ranch takes place Saturday and Sunday.
The 24-hour fundraiser for the American Cancer Society—it goes a full 24 hours because cancer never sleeps—will take place at Foothill Ranch Elementary School on Torino Drive.
The event steps off at 9 a.m., and 12 hours later it will have the most moving portion of the weekend, the Luminaria in which those who have died from cancer are remembered.
According to the event website, 166 participants on 11 teams have raised almost $16,000 through donations and sponsorships.
The event ends Sunday at 9 a.m.
